Future Frontiers: Educating for 2040 – a panel discussion

Join a panel of academics, practitioners and business personalities to discuss the implications for education of the current artificial intelligence and other emerging trends.

The panel will include Professor Buchanan, Dr Sandra Peter, Professor Rafael Calvo, Campbelltown Performing Arts High School principal Stacey Quince and NSW Public Service Commissioner Emma Hogan.

The ‘Preparing for the Best and Worst of Times’ report will be formally launched during this discussion.

John is the Co-Director of the Mental Wealth Initiative and a Professor in the Business Information Systems Discipline at the University of Sydney Business School. John is an expert in labour market structuring and its implications for skills and education. Current research interests include the future of expertise and social solidarity in a world of mass underemployment and AI.

Rafael Calvo, PhD is a Professor at Imperial College London and at the University of Sydney, and specialises human-computer interaction.

Dr Sandra Peter is the Director of Sydney Executive Plus at the University of Sydney Business School. Her research and practice focuses on engaging with the future in productive ways, and the impact of emerging technologies on business and society.
