Dr. Shanta Dey joined Work and Organisational Studies after completing work as a Research Associate at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She completed her PhD in mental health at the University of New South Wales, during which she also worked as a visiting researcher at the Department of Psychology at Yale University, USA. Her PhD investigated ways to utilise certain thinking styles to promote positive decision-making, particularly in the context of low mood. She has published her research in a number of scientific journals and has received both scholarships and awards for her research projects and presentations.
During the completion of her postdoctoral training, Shanta worked for public and private sector organisations including Macquarie Bank, PwC, and Communicate31. She has an Honours degree (First Class) in Psychology, a Masters degree in Organisational Psychology, and a PhD in Cognitive/Clinical Psychology.
Shanta is a registered psychologist and a member of the Body, Heart and Mind in Business Research Group. This group integrates research from the fields of management, psychology, biology, and medical sciences to build research strength and excellence in the areas of employee performance, health, and well-being.
