As an early career academic who recently completed a PhD on women and leadership in higher education, Briony is passionate about gender equality and the empowerment of women. In teaching undergraduate gender studies she encourages students in developing critical skills to analyse the workings of gender and its intersections with race, class, ethnicity, sexuality, and ability. Her teaching is focused on creative, student-centred learning in which students apply scholarship learnt in the classroom to activism beyond the university. In bringing together her academic research and teaching with her professional skills in executive management she is also experienced in strategic planning and policy analysis, and is known for her communication skills and ability to deliver value to organisations through improving and enhancing relationships and research collaborations across institutions.
